2025 Delaware Youth Environmental Summit
DEEVA and Scott Knows Solar attended this year’s YES. We established valuable connections, including Energize Delaware (see more below), and engaged with several interested high school students. We want to thank Winner Chevrolet of Dover and Union Park Volvo for lending us two high-end electric vehicles to display.
Where the Wild Chargers Are: Infrastructure Report…
In addition to the numerous Tesla Superchargers on the New Jersey Turnpike, several rest stops now offer CCS DC Fast Charging. The picture above is from the Walt Whitman Service Area, Located Southbound between Exits 4 and 3. I have seen these chargers in other rest areas and anticipate more in the future.

The Golden State now has 48 percent more public and shared private electric vehicle (EV) chargers than gas nozzles. The state's primary energy policy and planning agency, the California Energy Commission (CEC), reported that as of 2024, there were 178,549 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the state, compared to approximately 120,000 gas stations with nozzles.

Home charging…
As the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) accelerates, the challenge of providing equitable access to affordable EV charging becomes increasingly important. Installing more public chargers will not fully address issues of equitable access. The availability of power for home EV charging is one of the most critical factors in ensuring affordable access to electric vehicles for all Americans. Plug in America reports on Right to Charge policies and laws in the United States.

If you are a Delaware resident, please see what Energize Delaware has to offer you. We met them at the 2025 Youth Environment Summit, and they offer several programs to help you save money while reducing your carbon footprint.
An In-Home Energy Check-Up is a fast and easy way to increase the energy efficiency of your home, helping you start saving immediately. An Energy Advisor will visit your home to assess the condition of its insulation, heating and cooling system, lighting, appliances, and more, identifying simple ways to help you save energy and money.
ENERGIZE DELAWARE is offering a Residential Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) rebate program. This program runs from October 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 are already some of the best electric vehicles you can buy in America—even if the latter isn't exactly topping the sales charts. Now the automaker is sweetening the deal with the offer of a free home charger with any lease or purchase of those cars.
Hyundai has had a program like this in place since last summer, but the automaker recently announced more models are now eligible. As of March 1, the 2024 and 2025 Ioniq 6, along with the 2024 Ioniq 5, will be joining the party. The 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 5 N were already eligible. You can see the latest on this offer in the handy chart below:
